1. Standard size that most people in the industry use – 8 x 10 inches in size

2. ¾ photos, photos taken from the waist up to show a better overall picture of yourself

3. Your headshot should be a recent photo

4. A great headshot is the perfect balance of quality, individuality, and effectiveness

5. An actor should be clear on the markets he/she wants to work in first of all

6. The best shots come from a collaboration between a great professional that you connect with personally and feel comfortable with, and an actor who accepts some responsibility in the process.

7. staple your cover letter to the front of your headshot

8. Make up? Exactly the same that you yourself could apply

9. Your headshot is not about the photographer. It is about your face. And if one picture isn’t working, move ON TO THE NEXT.

10. Be persistent!… Never quit!… Believe in yourself!… Know who you are and what you want!

We all need an opportunity to step back from our ridiculously blessed lives and give thanks. Ignorance is the only cause for someone in America not to be thankful for what they have. On a global scale, we are the most blessed country!

So let’s do just that. Let’s allow for a moment this weekend where we sit in silence and reminisce the life we’ve lived. Everyday we have food, a roof over our head and air to breathe… We have a lot to be thankful for!

Headshots…..

Do I show my sexy side? Do I show my professionalism? My charming facial features…. what if I have neither? tough luck?

Here are a few guidelines to attempt to follow when taking a headshot… 1. 2. and 3. are the same rule…. natural, natural, natural! Nobody wants a posed smile feeling as if you have a gun pointed to your head. give us some love. laugh a little and show your colors. Our headshot photographer will help you loosen up a bit, possibly pour you a few drinks? and have you look your best… naturally. While most headshots are pretty boring, we recommend practice in front of a mirror to perfect the image you are attempting to portray. Good luck!
